I did this on a computer baseball game I had also. If only I had so much time on my hands now.

I didn't notice Smith was on two separate teams. You have to remember, Lonnie Smith was dead to me after the 1991 playoffs.Bengoodfellahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09401971573776672570noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-102327997051254703.post-63462646194965250632012-01-12T18:52:29.011-05:002012-01-12T18:52:29.011-05:00Ben, I also named everyone in Griffey Baseball on ...Ben, I also named everyone in Griffey Baseball on SNES back in the day, using baseball cards to match up the stats. Super Tecmo Bowl on SNES was my game. That and Ken Griffey Jr Baseball. I actually went into KGJ Baseball and updated all of the rosters w/ the exact names of the players so they would be accurate. I don't know how I got Broncos QB instead of QB Broncos. Very embarrassing.

That's an interesting way of doing OT. It is pretty different from what the NFL is doing now, so clearly the owners would never approve it. I keep waiting for my team to lose a game in OT and it will piss me off. Fortunately, it hasn't happened yet.Bengoodfellahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09401971573776672570noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-102327997051254703.post-46873688161311377212012-01-10T21:24:50.934-05:002012-01-10T21:24:50.934-05:00Yes, clearly you must play Tecmo (preferably Super...Yes, clearly you must play Tecmo (preferably Super) Bowl again, in the name of all that is good and pure. You will note it's definitely "QB Bills" rather than "Bills QB".

I refuse to write the man's name and increase his google juice even more, but yes, of course that is the narcissist I was referring to.

Oh, and clearly the optimal overtime method is the kids-with-cake solution: Away team names which yard line (always the offensive team's) to place the ball on, then the home team announces whether it wants to start on offense or defense. Then they play sudden death.

Now that would be fun. No one loves anything more than second-guessing coaching decisions!Justin Zethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11960963276563539839noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-102327997051254703.post-75278339858024021852012-01-10T18:48:35.764-05:002012-01-10T18:48:35.764-05:00Anon, that's a great point. I don't know if five years from now Peter would say the same thing. I just don't get how the comparison could be made. What about the drive where Elway flipped in the air in the Super Bowl? Nothing compared to this? I guess my problem is this was a one play drive. It was an exciting play, but let's not go crazy over it.

Rich, McDaniels was bad. I wrote something a/b him today which was somewhat positive. It pained me a bit, but Woody made me do it.

No offense to Miami/St. Louis, but if I was Fisher I would wait a bit or until next when Chicago fires Lovie Smith (if they do) to take that job. That's what kills me a/b St. Louis is they MAY have the QB position down, but they have invested highly in the OL and haven't gotten a return on the investment. Same thing it seems with the D-line as well. Plus, they need to go find an actual WR that isn't on the waiver wire or was drafted in the 4th round. Maybe I'm being too critical. If I'm Fisher, I may look to take the Oakland position.

It was a bad way to end the season on such a long catch, but the Steelers were banged up and took a team to OT on the road. So that is something.

Justin, maybe I am dyslexic. I thought I was doing it the Tecmo Bowl way. Clearly, I need to play Tecmo Bowl again. That narcissist isn't Brett Favre is it? I tried to think of a QB that had played for two of those teams and came up empty. Very sad.Bengoodfellahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09401971573776672570noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-102327997051254703.post-83258303842728358082012-01-10T18:18:56.574-05:002012-01-10T18:18:56.574-05:00It sounds so much better if you do it the Tecmo Su...It sounds so much better if you do it the Tecmo Super Bowl way: QB Broncos.

I've been calling a certain narcissist "QB Packers/Jets/Vikings" for years.Justin Zethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11960963276563539839noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-102327997051254703.post-83605903489342873042012-01-10T14:54:29.360-05:002012-01-10T14:54:29.360-05:00Still hate Josh McDaniels, Denver?

If it was an ugly way to end the season and the Broncos still needed OT to pull off the victory, I think we have a basis on which to say Denver still kind of sucks.

Went for it on 4th-and-1, bypassing a 41-yard field goal in a scoreless game in the second quarter; Matt Ryan got stuffed.

It was a stupid call, but lets not forget that it led to a safety, meaning they got 2 points and the ball back instead of three points and kicking off to the Giants.richnoreply@blogger.com
