It's not a coincidence I think that she started coming once his potential was being seen. It's sad, but that column depressed me and made me wonder how LeBron seems to be so well-adjusted.

JB, I have this knee jerk reaction to counter Daryl Morey's supposed genius. He's been there for six or so years now and he did get Harden and Howard. Still, how long will it take to get the Rockets up to where his reputation indicates they should be? He signed Lin and then basically gave him away to clear more cap room for his big master plan. Then he didn't get Bosh and now they are chasing Ariza.

I don't think Morey is bad, but his reputation exceeds his results if you ask me. So yes, I'm sort of happy Bosh went back to the Heat, but not surprised. I am happy about that. I am also happy that Bosh will stay in Miami instead of making the Rockets better.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-102327997051254703.post-89330537419352392352014-07-12T01:17:18.510-04:002014-07-12T01:17:18.510-04:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-102327997051254703.post-14843363009810298212014-07-11T22:23:03.172-04:002014-07-11T22:23:03.172-04:00man, gloria is a piece of work. wasn't even se...man, gloria is a piece of work. wasn't even seen at his basketball games before the eight grade? sheesh. methinks lebron has only himself to thank for his success.francnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-102327997051254703.post-42831344637721387022014-07-10T13:54:54.606-04:002014-07-10T13:54:54.606-04:00Still, I won't ever be a huge LBJ fan as long ...Still, I won't ever be a huge LBJ fan as long as he stays in the Eastern Conference. And man, I'm not sure I could be where he is if I had such a weird home life at such an impressionable age. It's really enlightening in seeing how he grew up and how he became the person/player he is today. I don't want to have more respect for him, but I do lean that way.

He's a superstar, so of course he has a huge ego, but I think he's turned out pretty well for the type of unstable upbringing he had...especially given the hype surrounding him.

"The Decision" was certainly a misstep but it seems LeBron does seem to bring out the best in his teammates and generally (there is an exception from a few years ago when he walked off the court without shaking hands) is respectful to the other team. He was a good sport about it, and he even acknowledged how good the Spurs were. He is definitely different from Kobe and Jordan in personality and for the better. Hopefully, he stays that way.

He may be cocky, but so far he has not sold out his teammates or coaches or sniped them during the season (or even after season).

Kobe had supposedly a more stable upbringing, but he turns out to be a guy that you do not want to hang around with. He snipes his coach and teammates. I don't understand why people are a fan of him.

Interesting contrast here between the best two players in NBA.

Thanks for bringing up that article!Slag-Kinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04675587994618760072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-102327997051254703.post-50134482184216326902014-07-09T16:15:38.491-04:002014-07-09T16:15:38.491-04:00Snarf, I know, right? I think other great HS athletes get treated much in the same way, except they don't have LeBron's talent. After reading that, I'm surprised LeBron turned out the way he did. It's not the worst environment, but it wasn't the best either.

Anon, this is awkward. He entered the NBA at the age of 18 and was born in December. So...apparently he didn't have to repeat?

It sounds like someone helped Gloria find that apartment. They got on LeBron's good side. Sort of investing in him at a young age so it will pay off down the road. That's the jaded way to look at it. I dont ever remember reading/hearing about him being left behind and having to repeat fourth grade. What am I missing here?

2. They found Gloria an apartment? What the fuck does that mean? There's no way she could possibly have afforded it, right?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-102327997051254703.post-78240467088370500052014-07-09T12:33:04.971-04:002014-07-09T12:33:04.971-04:00Wow, for as much criticism as Lebron has received,...Wow, for as much criticism as Lebron has received, much of it deserving, reading that article makes me think it's amazing how well he seems to have turned out. That is actually kind of a chilling read, considering what a toxic environment that seems like.Snarfnoreply@blogger.com
