FOUR! Still, that's why you have backups. The Panthers have been lucky to be pretty injury-free right now. They weren't as fortunate early in the year. There are so many holes and they are so frustrating with their mental mistakes. I know that can be said about so many teams, but in the most loving way, I hate this team. They throw when they should run, run when they should throw and keep getting lucky they don't suck worse than the teams they are playing. We'll see how they do in GB or Seattle this week.

The D was great last night. It's obviously nice they got to face Lindley. He plays to the defense's strengths in the short passes he throws and the fact he's not that good. The D is much better with the two rookies back there instead of DeCoud and Antoine Cason.

Bell is an abomination, but I have to admit his block on the screen pass was really nice. He got downfield, which is something he is athletic enough to do. What's shocking is that you are right. It's like the worse the OL got on paper, the better they have gotten on the field. They pulled Remmers off the waiver wire and Norwell is just some dude they liked in Training Camp. Both have played well so far.

Arizona was banged up and that's why I'm not going to start crowing and getting too excited. I'm under no impression this team is really a quality playoff team. But you are right, this is supposed to be Year 2 of a rebuilding and they made the playoffs again. They have done a great job taking guys off the street and getting rookies ready to play. It's a young team that has rookies playing a big role (Ealy, Bersin, Brown, Benjamin, Boston, Bene, Glanton, Turner), so that's a credit. It's something to build on, yet they are in the playoffs again. Weird.

Cam can not play that poorly again. I think his left ankle is secretly injured pretty badly again. His mechanics were terrible this year when his ankle flared up and it looked like his mechanics were WAY off last night. Just a guess, but I think the ankle is messing him up.

With Carson Palmer though, I want no part of the Arizona Cardinals and I feel bad they had to compete with Lindley. I guess the secondary had to evolve from day 1 to its present day and the front four had to gel without Hardy. They are a beast! Holding the Cardinals to 97 yards (yeah yeah that last -20 yards doesn't count in my book) is no mean feat despite who they had at QB. Loved the front four pressure. Kuechly and Davis were terrific tonight. This is not the same team that lost to Green Bay 38-17 (the offense is slightly improved from that time).

Ben, I have to say this, the offensive line is much better than it was early in the season. It was so bad back then that it makes today's OL Pro-Bowl caliber (of course, I still dislike Byron Bell...but he is getting better at run blocking...pass blocking is still a work in progress to put it mildly.

One thing that Jon Gruden brought up about the Panthers tonight was that AZ was banged up with 2nd and 3rd stringers; however, the Panthers went through some awful periods this year where they were just searching for players--any players off the street just to hold down the fort.

Good win for the Panthers tonight. I had to chuckle because Gregg was encouraging us to abandon the Panthers because of the awful product they produced on field.

Cheers, ben!Slag-Kinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04675587994618760072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-102327997051254703.post-7859041493519256952015-01-03T17:06:52.220-05:002015-01-03T17:06:52.220-05:00Give me:

Haha! They are terrible.

If/When the Panthers are eliminated I will cheer for the Packers and TBD in the AFC at that point. I think this Car/Ariz game may end up being ugly. We'll see. Screw the Cowboys, the Lions are dirty, Seattle just won it, and Aaron Rodgers annoys me with his face. Either team would be a nice underdog story. Go Cardthers!Eric Cnoreply@blogger.com
