Are You Kidding Me?

Please read my Woody Paige post below. I have been wrong all week. One more time I guess.

I am going to be excited to see what the A's gave up. Probably not a veteran pitcher. This doesn't make sense to me.

  1. I think they gave up Huston Street, Carlos Gonzalez, Smith. At least thats what I've heard. Some people are saying he is trading him for the draft picks they would get after he leaves. Others are saying that its because Beane is being pressured by the owner. It sounds to me like a pointless trade for the A's to make.

  2. Seriously though, what are the odds the A's are the team that trades for Holliday. If they gave up all of that for Holliday then I think this was a complete waste of time for the A's. I have no idea why they would do this.

Either way, everyone needs to read my Woody Paige post right below this. I can't believe the A's traded for Holliday one year away from free agency.

  3. oh, I Wasnt saying its not insane. The other thing he might try to do, is wait till the trade deadline, and get a shit ton of prospects from a desparate contender, and have them pick up his salary. But yeah, the A's were the last team that I thought was going to make a run at Holliday. I think Beane is smarter than this, and knows something that we dont know.

  4. I could see them getting some prospects for him at the trade deadline and I could also them just getting the prospects once Holliday files for free agency. I just don't get why they included two good young players and Huston Street in a deal for a one year player.

I would think they could get something good for Street and Gonzalez and Smith are comparable to anything they would get in a trade back. Maybe Beane does know something we don't.
